About the role Port River Cruises are looking for an experienced Skipper (Master to join our team in Port Adelaide, South Australia. As a casual Skipper, you will be responsible for safely navigating our vessels along the scenic Port River, providing an engaging and informative tourism experience for our guests. What you'll be doing Safely and efficiently operate and navigate a variety of passenger vessels in accordance with relevant maritime regulations and company policies Provide informative and entertaining commentary about the history, wildlife and points of interest along the Port River Ensure a high level of customer service and satisfaction for all guests on board Conduct pre-departure and post-arrival vessel checks and maintain detailed logbooks Assist with the loading and unloading of passengers Contribute to the overall smooth running of daily cruise operations What we're looking for A valid (Master certificate of competency Demonstrable experience as a Skipper or Master of passenger vessels, preferably in a tourism or hospitality setting Excellent navigational, boat handling and berthing skills Strong customer service orientation and ability to engage with passengers Good communication and interpersonal skills Passion for the local area and enthusiasm to share your knowledge First aid certification and familiarity with vessel safety and emergency procedures What we offer At Port River Cruises, we pride ourselves on providing a positive and supportive work environment for our team.
